The draft bill on the 2024 Olympic Games and swimming in the Seine
« Meanwhile, in the Parliament… », a new section led by Communication & Institutions in Olbia Conseil’s weekly newsletter.
This week, C&I’s associate director, Fabrice Alexandre, focuses on swimming in the Seine, and the parliamentary review of the draft bill on the 2024 Olympic Games.
On Wednesday, the Senate’s commission of laws adopted an amendment (whispered by the Ville de Paris) to the draft bill on the 2024 Olympic Games, ordering boats and floating facilities in Paris to join the public network of waste water collection. It enabled us to discover that it was not indeed mandatory until then!
The goal is to guarantee the water quality of the Seine for the white water swimming competitions (10 km, triathlon), and avoid “unfortunate encounters” for the swimmers… Chirac was dreaming about it, Paris 2024 made it come true!
